Special Constable Andrew Perrie who, while off duty recalled himself to duty and went to the aid of two Burgh Police officers in Inverness town centre on 15th April 1944 while they were trying to contain a major disorder involving Canadian Forestry Batallion men. After helping to put the prisoners into the cells at Castle Wynd Police Station, S/C Perrie collapsed and died.
