Während der Fußstreife zusammen mit dem Constable Roland John Graham, näherten sich zwei
republikanische Bewaffnete den Offizieren von hinten und eröffneten das Feuer.
Beide Offizieren wurden durch Kopfschüsse getötet.

While on foot patrol together with Constable Roland John Graham in Church Walk, Lurgan,
two republican gunmen approached the officers from behind and opened fire at point blank range,
both officers were shot in the head and killed.
