When reporting for duty at Westbury Police Station, after jogging to work from his home, he collapsed in the station and despite attempts to resuscitate him he died soon afterwards from heart failure.
Mike was appointed in 1987 and worked at Westbury as a Neighbourhood Beat Manager;
he had previous service as a Firearms Officer and had been commended for bravery.
He is survived by his daughter aged 18 and son 13, his fiancée and her
three daughters aged 20, 16 and 11; his parents and a brother and sister.
