Der Offizier wurde im dienstfrei mit Freunden in einer Bar in der Dunbar Straße, Belfast,
spät abends von nationalistisch Bewaffneten erschossen.

While the officer was off duty with friends in a bar in Dunbar Street, Belfast, late at night,
nationalist gunmen entered the premises and one of them shot the constable in the back; as the
officer staggered two more shots were fired and he died at the scene from his injuries.
